Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici to Deliver Keynote Address at Eighth Annual Ocean Renewable Energy Conference Congressional Representative for Coastal Oregon and Democratic Leader on Subcommittee on the Environment
Oregon Wave Energy Trust (OWET) announced today that Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamiciwould give keynote remarks at the eighth annual Ocean Renewable Energy Conference at 11:45 am on Thursday, September 26th. The Ocean Renewable Energy Conference, which will be held September 25-26, 2013 at the Liberty Theater in Astoria, Oregon.
Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici was sworn in as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives on February 7, 2012. She represents the First Congressional District of Oregon, which comprises the Northwest portion of the state including Astoria. As the Democratic leader on this Subcommittee on the Environment, Congresswoman Bonamici works to address the causes and risks of global climate change, and to ensure that policy decisions are based on scientific evidence.
As a representative of coastal Oregon, she also works to draw attention to issues that affect this unique region, including ocean acidification, early tsunami warning systems, weather monitoring, and debris removal and the responsible development of ocean renewable energy.
