Northwest Offshore Wind Supply Chain Summit
Floating offshore wind represents an exciting new energy resource for the west coast. California has already adopted a goal of developing 25 gigawatts of offshore wind and held its first ocean lease auctions in 2022. Oregon is on track to have leases in 2024. Driven by a world class wind resource, we on the west coast must decide how to make the most of this opportunity. The Pacific Ocean Energy Trust and Washington Maritime Blue teamed up to host this offshore wind supply chain event on November 16 at the Hilton in Vancouver, Washington. This one day event provided insights into the state of the offshore wind sector, and explored opportunities for ports and supply chains to support the sector, and discussed how to ensure equitable distribution of benefits from this emerging sector to all stakeholders in the region.
